Evangeline: A Coloring Book for Children

The story for this coloring book is based on the poem, Evangeline, by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

The Coloring book tells the story of the deportation of Acadians from Nova Scotia in 1755 in a format for children of early elementary age. After Evangeline and Gabriel were separated during the deportation, Evangeline devoted most of her life searching for Gabriel. She found him, finally, in a poorhouse in Philadelphia after she had become a nun. They had a special moment of healing their hearts before he died in her arms.

The illustrations for the coloring book were done by the gifted and talented students at Biddeford Middle School, Biddeford, Maine under the direction of Gail Roller, a gifted and talented teacher.
